I hate to break it to you but you also pay for the contractors who do the work that government “workers” should be doing. And there are vast legions of innumerable (and highly paid) contractors working under government contracts in virtually every agency and department. In some places, contractors completely run the show since the feds are incapable and can’t, or won’t, do the work. Its really a giant, pathetic mess. The average taxpayer has no clue what’s going on.
