Ukraine Crisis: 'If I Want, I Will Take Kiev in Two Weeks', Putin Warns EU's Barroso
International Business Times ^ | 9/1/14 | Jack Moore

Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a threat to outgoing European Commission President Jose Manual Barroso that he could "take Kiev in two weeks" if he wanted, Italian media reports have said.

According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the Russian leader made the belligerent statement in a phone call with the outgoing EU leader, who is set to be replaced by Luxembourg's former prime minister Jean-Claude Juncker...

Yeah, make the Slavs Slaves, build a wide gouge railroad for high-speed rail from Berlin to Moscow, reward faithful democrat fascist folk with huge estates, I'm warming up to the idea.

What I think is funny, though, is that Barroso is the one who said Putin told him this and I've seen more than a few articles and people claim Barroso is the Antichrist

Now, I gather, he's on the side of the angels which begs the question, is he still the Antichrist just appearing to be an angel of light, or were the "prophecy experts" wrong about him to begin with?

....”both (Perry and Brewer) are too politically wary right now, which is not a good characteristic, IMHO.”....

I think they’re doing what is possible and awaiting for the elections which will give them much broader latitude in how they deal with their states.

Perry and Cruz and West, if he runs for office.. have fine lines to walk to “win “ the election...so I expect to see some less than admirable qualities they’ll exhibit to win over more voters...but once they have it...then I suspect the fur will fly in Washington.

Yes it would be, but the USSR/Russia is a big producer as well. But I understand that if you can only use it locally, it ain’t paying well and when the market tanks, that’s a big problem.

not this time of year you won’t, too close to winter. Two months from now it will be snowing, 3-4 months from now you will be in deep snow.

...”IMO, the ones to watch for the future are Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council, Alexei Gromov, Kremlin Chief of Staff, or Sergey Naryshkin, the Parliament speaker”....

Interesting ... as how they’re seated matters. But I’m interested to know what you’re take on Gromov is.....Putin does keep those close to him that could potentially be a threat...but he also outs them pretty quick if they “look like” they could compete against him. How loyal is Gromov in your opinion?

It’s a strategy that has worked well for the Swiss, and also causes America’s foes to fear the price of invasion.

Are you kidding? ... America's foes have already taken possession of the White House! :O

So are you two going to enlist right away and deploy to the meat grinder in Eastern Europe? In fact, there is nothing stopping either of you from flying to Kiev and fighting the Russians right now.

It's easy being a war hawk on geopolitical and strategic issues (which neither of you know dick about) behind a keyboard and it's not your ass on the line.

Doesn't matter which Republican wins, RINO or true Conservative, the "fur" that will be flying within a month of their taking the oath will be fur shaved off of them by the first of one fake scandal after another.

The best a Republican winner will be able to do is repeal all the BS Executive Orders that have been put in force since 2008.

Getting anything out of Congress unless the Republicans hold both Houses after 2016 election with a comfortable margin and retain that control through 2018 will be next to impossible unless it's watered down to the point that it won't change anything significant.

Conservatives should have gone to the mat to keep Gingrich and a couple of others from the same time period, warts and all, but they didn't. Now the democrat fascist party knows they can cut the nutz off any Republican majority with completely made up "scandals" and "ethics violations" because Republicans and Conservatives in general much prefer hanging individually to hanging together.

Put an effective Republican in any office and the fascists can peel away their support in a heartbeat because Conservatives who claim to know they can't trust the media lap up whatever the media puts out as long as it's got the right hot buttons mixed in with the lies.

JMHO

Spreading my thoughts over several topics here, I agree with your election comments. We are in a precarious position in many ways in that yes, they may need to slide more left for votes. One big hope is that the current dems have botched it so badly that voters come across the aisle, but I am no so sure about that. Taking the Senate would/should send some strong message nationally and to the world (the commies), and embolden our favorites, but Obama would likely block most everything. The next two years are likely Putin’s to enjoy no matter what happens in 2014. (Thanks! I’ll check back in the AM.)

Cruz is making his plays for a run..so I give him lots of lea-way regarding anything he states on the International Stage at this point. I pretty much know why he’ll get my support and sufficient for me that he’s proved himself more than enough early on, which is when I size up a candidate.

So...I don’t oppose Cruz, he’s playing to the masses as well as to the International Community for their support...Blame Russia is part of ‘the trend’ and was the agenda from the beginning in order to gain public and International peoples support for what was happening in Ukraine....regardless of otherwise evidence throughout this mess.

We live in a geo-political world now where everything is interconnected globally....some things more hardwired to nations than others but it’s all connected....and it’s what dealing and agreements hinge on when facing conflicts now as all sides stand to loose something if things cannot be negotiated and sitting down at the tables to do so.

Unfortunately when parties refuse to do so there are plenty cold war warriors out there who love a fight and things on the ground can get moving much quicker than negotiations.....so open conflict ensues and people die. Usually what begins this are revolutions....

...That’s what happens when the big boys can’t come together and decide their terms.....especially in light of a revolution where all interested parties are going to play their hands, and the information wars ensues with this.

Regardless of the deaths the big boys still keep playing their cards until someone has the brains to recognize they’ll be nothing left to divy up when the dust settles.

Kiev believed unloading bombs and shelling would somehow be sufficient to chase away their troubled area.....didn’t work and still isn’t working. ...and it won’t work. Negotiations have to be done and compromises made. It’s that simple...and what’s remarkable is this could have been done long ago!

...."Matviyenko seems to be the most interesting (and powerful)of the three"....

It sure looks that way...she's everywhere Putin and or Medvedov are throughout the Kremlin and elsewhere.

Cruz isn’t lying, so you do oppose Cruz.

You have quite a detailed international conspiracy fantasy playing out inside your head.

I already have two honorable discharges under my belt, and if you can get me a waiver, then sure, I would love to go back to NATO forces.

It is easy for you to be an idiot sitting behind your keyboard, with your teen sounding trash talk.

What a disgusting way for you to be denigrating Cruz, trying to sell the idea that he is just faking being against yours and Obama’s weakness, and that he secretly agrees with you.

Don’t know much about Gromov, he seems to be the hand in the shadows. He has spent a LOT of time outside of the country in various posts, and speaks English fluently.

Lol.

I've been there done that and not every hill is worth dying for. So you can play e-tough guy with yourself all you want.

With two discharges you understand people die in war, right? Ukraine provides zero strategic importance to the US. If the US didn't cross the Fulda Gap when Soviet tanks rolled into Hungary it sure as hell isn't going to put boots on the ground in Ukraine. Arms and political support, yeah, but no air strikes are going to happen on Russian positions.

Should of listened to Patton and drove the Soviets back to Moscow in 45.

If you want to return to the deadly and costly Cold War, with the same possibility of eventually losing to the Russian empire, then keep showing Jimmy Carter/Obama weakness, and let Putin continue to invade countries.

Get a little more Patton and a lot less Obama in your thinking.
