Refusing to buckle to her worst fears, Joan Rivers daughter is keeping her fingers crossed that a miracle will bring the 81-year-old comedic legend back from the brink of death.

I meant to direct that to post 9.
Why should her being Jewish be an issue?
Please, let us all pray for this gutsy lady who dared tell the truth about Obama and Michelle and Garza and Israel.Shes A very funny lady and a true American icon
An Americon treasure.
From the initial post:
“...and that she will proclaim the name of Jesus as her Lord & Savior. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.”
You can’t see, however well intentioned it might be, that that might be offensive as a prayer for someone who’s Jewish?
that that might be offensive as a prayer for someone whos Jewish?
Her daughter asked for people to pray for a miracle. Jesus is the Great Physician.
This is not the time to proclaim political correctness when someone’s life hangs in the balance. The daughter asked for a miracle. What better way than to go to the Source of all life. . . .the Giver of life for that miracle.
We pray also that the daughter is comforted at this difficult time.
I think the poster was genuine in a call for prayer.
she is a very, very talented (and smart) lady
i had no idea she was 81 years old
(!)
pray for her, please, that she may be granted a few more good years with us...
Amen!
As Red Buttons once said, most of the singers are Italian, most of the comedians are Jewish, but there is hardly any difference between them - one year of high school.
Keep digging that hole.
I don’t question the sincerity of the original poster. However, the question was raised by a Jewish FReeper that Joan Rivers’s Jewish faith be respected; asking that Rivers be saved so that she might receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior is not respectful of her Jewish faith or of her daughter/family’s request for prayers for a miracle. Has nothing whatsoever to do with PC, but rather, respect for the faith of the person for whom one is praying.
No. I am going to make a statement now. I am Jewish and I’ve been active in the Republican party for years in AZ. I know I am in the minority and I don’t mind when I an left out of prayers because the person who gives it has to end with in Jesus’s name WE pray. I don’t pray in Jesus’s name. All you have to do is say, “In Jesus’s name I pray or in HIS name we pray.” That would be inclusive and respectful. So I stand there and I don’t say anything because frankly, it’s not going to change my life. But after awhile, it’s a bit off-putting. But now, knowing Joan Rivers is Jewish and saying that you hope she accepts Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior? That is beyond disrespectful and I am going to call it out.
Didn’t think you had a sense of humor.
Joan Rivers is Jewish, yet the Christian faith says that we ask for Jesus’ help. The Bible says that Jesus is the Son of God therefore you need to accept Him as Lord and Saviour here on Earth BEFORE you stand before the Father. That being said, Joan (God Bless her) will see them both when the silver cord severs.
It’s not being disrespectful to those of the Jewish faith for we are ALL of the House of Israel. You want to see it as disrepectful, well that’s your burden to carry.
Christians are only doing what we are supposed to. Have a problem with it?
Talk to God.
And you all wonder why few minorities want to be part of the Republican Party.
Could never stand joan rivers. Especially after her john kerry like face jobs. Seems the only reason freepers are all supportive of her is because she called michelle a tranny and obama gay. Pathetic.
Prayers for her recovery!!
You just want to play the victim, don’t you? This thread isn’t about you, so why don’t you stop pretending to be offended and pray for Joan? Try thinking about somebody else besides yourself.
The “We” is believers. It has nothing to do with you. We shouldn’t change our traditions because they offend you. Frankly, I get tired of people getting their hackles raised over the most miniscule of issues. And how is it offensive to pray for a Jewish person? I ask my Jewish friends if they mind me praying for them. Guess what? They don’t care. They thank me because they know I don’t wish them ill. Ridiculous. We want her to recover. We don’t want Satanic goats to eat her heart. You’d think that’s what we have suggested, by the way you’re raising a fuss.
We pray for her to find Christ because we know there is no other name by which men can be saved. Joan has no hope without HIM...and neither do I! Whether you believe that or not doesn’t matter. An embargo on the truth doesn’t change the truth. And withholding the truth to be “respectful” is not loving.
You want the freedom to be Jewish yet would deny us the freedom to be Christians. True Christians want no one to perish without Christ, including you.
