Jihadists have pretty much guaranteed that it will happen on that "perfect day."
Was it Putin’s “Reichstag Fire”?
I would not leave my 1911 in the car.
To be honest I don’t remember any serious political fallout from this massacre. Chechen war was popular with a Russian public before that and it was already in full force, so there was no escalation based on this awful event. And it was quite a hit for Putin who bragged that he is doing nice and winning there.
If it has really affected something it was a global opinion toward Islamism. Between 9/11 and Beslan there was no room to explain the first as a kind of excess anymore after the latter took place. For any person who wasn’t blind and deaf it become a part of a larger picture with Muslims acting Muslim. ‘Islamism’ was a kind of N-word before Beslan but it is rather common after that. I rarely see the term ‘freedom fighter’ or ‘rebel’ referring to Islamist terrorists ever since.
The pic of the child’s bloodied hand with the crucifix is one of the most heartbreaking photos I’ve ever seen.
I read that same report. They herded the girls into the gym and were systematically raping as many of them as they could. They killed many of the boys right from the start.
The locals knew it was a bloodbath inside and wanted it over. They understood the risks and the recriminations about it after the fact ring hollow. The only recrimination should have been that it took three days to start the operation instead of three hours.
It was awful what they did. I am surprised that some bunch of democrat voters hasn’t tried that here.
“Long story short, my sweet 1911 was invented to kill moslems.”
Just reading that, I love my 1911 even more now. Belonged to my Dad who carried it in WWII.
;^)
Thanks, didn’t know that.
