“Putin has started WWIII and this little punk thinks Russia will survive.”

Yes, as a matter of fact, Putin crazy enough to gamble on the Russian civil defense measures to ensure the survival of enough of the populace to serve as a deterrent against the U.S. risking the Russians going nuclear in a direct conflict. Moscow very ostentatiously publicized how the bomb shelters have had their doors and their stores prepared for immediate use as a threatening signal to the West.

That is why Latvia and Lithuania are kicking up such a fuss on behalf of the Ukraine, because they know full well the Putin intends to walk across the border just as soon as he feels he can present NATO with another fait accompli as he did in all of the previous frozen conflicts.

The Russians just used some TU-22 backfire bombers, MiG 29s, and some warships to crowd the Latvian territorial waters and intimidate the Latvians.

Russia came to an agreement with China that Russia will move west against Ukraine and the Baltics and then the rest of Europe and China will move east against Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines, effectively isolating the U.S.

And we have the weakest, most feckless, anti-American president and administration in American history.

Thanks a lot, Dems, for shoving this POS down our throats.

Before Obama surrenders I just hope there is enough time for those of us who truly love America to exact some revenge against the Dims.

It’s not as if this should be a big surprise.

The EU and NATO have been putting the squeeze on Russia for years knowing that Putin is a madman and Obama is a pussy.

Latvia and Lithuania could leave NATO and Russia would leave them alone, it would be a better choice for all.

“Latvia and Lithuania could leave NATO and Russia would leave them alone, it would be a better choice for all.”

Not a chance in Hell. Putin and Dugin have already said they intend to seize the Baltic States and punish them for defecting from the Soviet Union and Russia.

Putin is following the Soviet WW2 playbook.

Putin will use his own troops to establish a land corridor from Rostov-on Don to Crimea.

The current fighting in Donetsk, etc. is a diversion from his real objective which is the Russia to Crimea land route. He’s already moving on Mariupol.

He’s going to take the M23 to E58 to E10 to E25 route.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he sends paratroopers to take over Melitopol.

Flashback:

Melitopol Offensive 26 September – 5 November 1943

I don't think so. IMHO Russia wants buffer states on it's border, not a common border with a belligerent NATO.

Putin is also trying to isolate the Ukraine from its Black Sea ports, the Ukrainian Navy, and provide an invasion route into Transnistria and the Russian battalions there for continued operations to reconquer Moldova.

The longer game is to regain control of Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria on the way to link up with the Slavs in Serbia.

Putin is not crazy.

His Crimean invasion is not economically sustainable without a land/truck route from Russia to Crimea. That is his objective.

The rest is a diversion and a tactic to eliminate the Ukrainian air force and deplete the Ukrainian military supplies and morale, before he makes his land grab.

When Putin makes his Russia to Crimea land route grab, he will then start to us irregular forces to threaten Kherson and Odessa in order to get Ukraine and the EU to accept the land grab.

And he will cut off European gas supplies if they don’t accept his terms.

The land/highway grab will be a Sept/Oct operation so he can cut off EU gas supplies starting in November if needed.

Russia is the belligerent. NATO invited Russia to join NATO, gave NATO a unique position in the NATO organization and a voice in some NATO affairs, and offered to share NATO’s nuclear weapons technologies and missile technologies. Putin and Russia have belligerently spurned every effort to establish and maintain peaceful relations all the while falsely accusing the victims of his aggressions of being the hostile parties in Russia’s unilateral hostilities. By Russia’s definition, any state which wants to be independent of Russia’s totalitarian rule is by that definition a hostile threat to Russia’s murderously criminal ambitions. Blaming the victims of Russia’s criminal acts is not going to fly, and not even in Russia with many of Russia’s citizens. Putin and his gang are flirting with personal danger, just as Benito Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, and so many other dictators learned the hard way.

Fascinating how the Borscht Brigade tries to frame it. If you oppose Putin, you support Obama (or McCain). Still can’t understand why some conservatives fall for it . . . .

I want "buffer houses" on either side of my property. Ok to just take what I need?
