I remember going to the county landfill (trash dump)several years ago after a particularly windy storm system passed through. The leeward side was a surreal landscape of trees, bushes and brush all with plastic bags trapped in their branches. I wondered at the time how long it would remain like that. I’m not sure exactly when the landscape became free of the bags but eventually it did.

LOL
Clueless CA, up to its eyeballs in illegals and Marxists, and rapidly descending to third-world status, passes icky little laws such as a ban on plastic bags, while the Left is decimating the economy of the state. CA will achieve Detroit status in our lifetime.

However, plastic bags made in Mexico are welcome in California.

My wife washes them out and reuses....not because she’s enviromentally conscious but because she’s a tight a$$.

Huisache?
No, those are not Huisache either. Huisache have very tiny leaves and those shown have very long leaves. That type of tree also has a green trunk and limbs.
The name of the tree (excuse the spelling) sounds like “waheia.”

They’ve got it all backwards. It should be a Democrat politician bagman ban.

It takes 84 times more energy to recycle a paper bag than a plastic one. Idiots.

We’ve solved our massive budget deficit out here, y’see, and have decided that illegal immigration is not an issue, so nonsense like this is only problem we have left to tackle.

There’s been such a ban in Los Angeles County too. This is the first STATE to do so. The idiots in Sacramento want to make sure it’s a pain in the ass for all of us from Crescent City to Calexico.

And I heard that paper grocery bags are going to cost 10 cents each. Sooooooo...which politician’s cousin is invested in manufacturing paper bags?

From the bill d) Notwithstanding any other law, on and after July 1, 2015, a store, as defined in paragraph (1) or (2) of subdivision (g) of Section 42280, that makes reusable grocery bags or recycled paper bags available for purchase at the point of sale shall provide a reusable grocery bag or a recycled paper bag at no cost at the point of sale to a customer using a payment card or voucher issued by the California Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children pursuant to Article 2 (commencing with Section 123275) of Chapter 1 of Part 2 of Division 106 of the Health and Safety Code or an electronic benefit transfer card issued pursuant to Section 10072 of the Welfare and Institutions Code.
Meaning that if you pay for your groceries using food stamps the rest of us taxpayers get to pay not only for your groceries but also for your bag.

They’re banning the 30 gal black plastic bags?!!! THOSE are single use bags!
The little white grocery bags get multiple uses in my household. I store stuff in them also. After one year indoors, those bags have to be replaced because they fall apart.
The problem with the grocery bags is their color. If they were black, they wouldn’t be so visible and the libs wouldn’t see them.
To: knarf
The illegals use plastic bags for virtually all transportation purposes.
To: traderrob6
Can’t wash them here in commiefornica because we have no water either!

It isn’t JUST the plastic ban but the other rules, pages and pages of rules, about other bags. It is written by retarded adults.
