A mounting death toll in President Bashar al-Assad's armed forces is causing alarm among some government loyalists who are worried about Islamic State's territorial gains and are turning their anger on the authorities in Damascus.
The execution of scores of Syrian soldiers taken captive by Islamic State at an air base in Raqqa province has triggered unusually harsh social media criticism of the Damascus government by people who have taken its side in the civil war.

So what is the alternative?
Don’t say the FSA because it practically does’t exist. It is the weakest of the anti-Assad factions.
That may be so.
FSA though killed the two Americans who have been in the news, certainly makes one think. ISIS has also been chased off a number of times, fled.
A story is circulating around that Christians are joining forces out there. What a mess all around.
This is what I have been thinking too. It is intolerable for the soldiers of one’s own country to be absolutely slaughtered inside its own borders. Doesn’t Syria have some air-power?? Iran might as well. Why aren’t they or someone going after the ISIS troops?
The ISIS has been massacring the tribes that back Assad in the East. Likely that some of the airbase defenders were tribal irregulars.
I don’t buy the “antiwar.com” agenda but they do have some interesting reading along with sites such as shoebat.com. Antiwar.com does take their stories from all sources. Jerusalem Post has a lot of useful news.
Hell, we may end up using WMD on these roaches, too.
Assad, murderous dictator that he is, cooperated, more or less, during GWI and II. We should have encouraged the Sov, er, Russians to support him.
Likewise we should have supported Mubarak and Daffy.
Fascism is a step up an Islamic Republic.
