Obama is literally physically frightened of Putin and Putin knows it. Obama has done everything he could to avoid being alone with Putin.
Bush was exactly the opposite. He went out of his way to speak privately with Putin and Putin respected him for it.
As far as Georgia is concerned, they was over before anyone really had a chance to react to it. Georgia also has other problems like a small but nasty population of rabid muslims.
It’s all politics, I know. But Bush’s hands were tied. He had Iraq and Afghanistan to deal with . . . and NPR and Cindy Sheehan. The best he could to was transport the Georgian troops in Iraq back to Georgia.
