The sad truth remains that 5% of FReepers support 100% of FR. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had 10% support? These things would wrap up in days, not months.
When I joined FR ten years ago, it was not uncommon to git 'er done in 7-10 days. It was less expensive 10 years ago, but, it really shouldn't take two months.
Not everybody can donate. I get that. But, I'm certain that we have some among the 95% that are FReeploading. Harsh words, but I know it's true.
Imagine no FR. No way to get the REAL news that affects us all. No pool of talent to ferret out the real truth. No ability to call BS when we see it.
The list goes on.
We need your help. We need new donors. We need new blood.
If you've never donated, give it a whirl. If you donate once in a while, try monthly donations. It's really painless.
Imagine a Freepathon that lasts days, not months.
I agree. I don’t know why he stayed here...................
I liked his claim that letting blogpimps post nothing but excerpts to drive traffic FROM FR to a blog for site hits will somehow magically improve FR’s quarterly intake.
I loved being told that he was an older sign up than me.....by 8 months. *eyes rolling*
Yeah, that was amusing to see as well.
FReepers, from the ever amazing DC Chapter, brought cheer and support to our Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed EVERY week for over SIX YEARS! Ditto the Olney FReepers! We can't all be a Doctor Raoul (although Hillary would never show her face again if there were a thousand of him.) but we can do a bit for the cause everyday in many ways.
It takes longer but we still get the FReepathon DONE, because there are enough FReepers who believe is FreeRepublic, donating their cash and time (that wonderful team is a treasure).
It's easy to be negative... In 1997 if you told someone.... ANYONE... that a conservative forum that was funded solely by voluntary donations from it's members would still be truckin' along in 2014, they would have called you crazy.
Thanks for the vision and determination Jim.
Thank you very much, Tijeras_Slim!! God bless the dedicated members of the DC Chapter!!
And we can’t forget the hundreds if not thousands of Support our Troops rallies that our members hosted in cities all across America after 9/11 and throughout the Afghan and Iraq wars.
And after Obama was elected our members turned out in droves for thousands of tea parties all across this great land. And we’re still turning out. Unfortunately, we’re having to protest against the backstabbing GOPe along with the dummiecrats.
FR was the tea party before the tea party was born.
Thank God for our FReepers!!
By the way, I went over to see if Free Vulcan had shown up at that internet powerhouse mother-of-all news aggregators, True Blue Liberty, but their most recent reply to a thread was 16 hours ago. ;)
Anyone who comes here every day should be a monthly donor.
And you wore it well. ;-)
I truly am sorry to see Free Vulcan go. But, FV must have his reasons. I really don’t like to see anyone leave, but it happens. As a pastor, we’re told to expect 10% turnover a year for one reason or another. We could go nuts trying to persuade the unpersuadable.
Best to drive on, respect those who helped build and then were called elsewhere. Lamenting the loss or being embittered by the departure is wasted energy for the most part.
Better to look for ways to grow and be helpful in the future.
Dang.
Just this year alone I've been on an overpass, at the Mexican consulate and at the border.. activistin'.
Hard to please some folks I guess.
Too bad he won't be around to enjoy the premier annual 2nd amendment "activism that activisn't" in October.
” The FReepers always come through for FR!!”

I don’t have much but FR will always get some of it.
I have learned so much and frequently been annoyed, but I feel at home here.
