Recently, Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly clashed over the notion of “white privilege,” debating the root cause of statistical disparities between white and black Americans. The Blaze summarizes:
Among the facts Kelly shared is that black unemployment in Ferguson is three times what it is for whites and that a black child in the U.S. is four times more likely to live in a poor neighborhood than a white child.
While OReilly didnt dismiss these figures, he said that families, culture and personal responsibility are the real issues at hand.
But Kelly didnt agree that OReillys assessment addressed the full picture.
Its not just families or culture, she said. Look at that stat about the black children four times as likely to live in poor neighborhoods as white children, and in the St. Louis area there is documented white flight the whites take off, these become black neighborhoods. The schools they get forgotten and the black population feels forgotten, Bill.
Whether Kelly intended it or not, she echoed a disturbing premise which carries demeaning paternalistic overtones. Consider, why should an exodus of white people leave blacks destitute? Are we not speaking of adults? Are we blacks not endowed with the same human capacity to conceive of values and pursue happiness? To speak of blacks as forgotten is to speak of us like children lost at the mall, wholly incapable of assuming responsibility for ourselves. In this way, white privilege seems to mean productive capacity, and those wielding the phrase seem to argue that blacks have none.

It’s about fathering. When you find successful black families, almost all have fathers. Boys and girls need dads to set boundaries, be the hammer when it’s necessary and teach their children about respect. Kids don’t respect single moms who have serial boyfriends.
I would love to ask, face to face, a question of Jesse Jackson and/or Al Sharpton...
“Jesse/Al, did you get to where you are today on your own?
Did you work hard to get to your standing in life, or did you have to rely on government programs to get to where you are? Were you smart enough, have the work ethic to accomplish on your own???”
If you answer, “Yes, I got here on my own..” Then are you saying that other blacks aren’t smart as you and have no work ethic and must have handouts to achieve?? That you are better than them and they just can’t do it on their own???
If you answer, “No, I had to have help.” Then you are saying that you aren’t good enough to do things on your own...
Megyn seems to think Whitey is responsible for Black families, education & achievement.
No wonder she went blond.
It means it’s time to screw whitey.
Black daddys don’t need to be fathers. FEDGOV does that. FEDGOV is the provider. The more kids you pop out the more it pays. Blacks have been “left behind” to the tune of $22 Trillion in today’s dollars since LBJ created the Great Society in 1964. Blacks get a low middle income tasty sliver of that pie that the largely “white privileged” working poor are providing via income tax confiscation from FEDGOV, which in turn, just gets bigger from the ponzi scheme the dems created.
“Megyn seems to think Whitey is responsible for Black families, education & achievement.”
Then I think we should suggest that Megyn help fix that by sending half her salary to the United Negro College Fund. Put your money where your mouth is. I am still working at 70 and have no retirement in sight. Paying utilities is a struggle and to have to listen to why I am responsible for black folks plight, Sorry not buying it. Pay up Megyn.

“By contrast, I work with a person of color every day who is responsible, cares for his wife and kids, even was a small business owner at one time. He doesnt blame every problem on the man.”
The problem is with the percentages. I too know Blacks who are responsible. Unfortunately they are more the exception than the rule today. In terms of numbers, there are many more White crook/lowlifes than Black, but society looks at percentages and that process tags the decent Blacks with the stigma that comes from the majority of their ethnic group. One thing is certain, the “government programs” that have been implemented since Kennedy have not helped at all. The only thing they have done is make Blacks more dependent and pi$$ed away literally billions of tax dollars.
Some people are privileged as to have adopted an ethic of self-control, responsibility, hard work and gratitude. And others choose to go the other way.
***The only thing forgotten is that the students forget to study.***
Black students now can go to white schools, lay their head on the desk and refuse to learn.
That is what was happening 40 years after Little Rock’s Central High was integrated.
The ‘privilege’ to punch a time clock EVERY day of your life and get less for it ... while OTHERS get THEIR share WITNOUT any effort.
That’s mighty white of them!
Reminds me when I was young, my friend and I would go get an ice cream from the Swedish owned ice cream parlor. He always got a bigger scoop than me as he looked Swedish and I didn’t.
He wasn’t Swedish either. Can I play the victim card?
Be sure to show it to the ice cream server!
What do they mean? They mean that white people use logic in their arguments, and that is not “fair” to illogical people, so they really just want white people to shut up.
With a homeroom size of (approximately, for estimation) 20 students .... That translates to $260,000 / year, per classroom.
With pay, benefits, etc etc etc, the teacher might account for $100,000 of that number. Where is the rest of the money going? Schools don't need to worry about taxes. Upkeep is always an issue, but 150-ish grand PER CLASSROOM buys an awful lot of upkeep.
I'd take a wild guess that expenses are going to administration. And, poor oversight of the budgets - after all, it's not their money being spent.
Good one!
I guess the only "white privilege" that really exists is the lack of excuses for failure. When whites, asians, indians or hispanics fail, people around them say, "I wonder what he did wrong?". When American blacks fail people around them say, "It's not his fault. Whitey made him do it."
“Schools don’t need to worry about taxes.”
I never even considered that!
