The overwhelming majority of child molestation takes place within the home, by a relative or mommy's "boyfriend".

I wouldn't be in the least surprised to find out that kids are safer in the park.

I'm not saying that some of things that go on re: supervising children ISN'T overdone...BUT...before we utter, "Back in the day we never did X"; we should also admit that back in the day we used to intern the mentally ill, had decent jobs to go around for those that never went past high school, had plenty more 1 income families and 2 parent households, TV and media as a whole had SOME moral standards; kids as a whole WERE more mature re: most life skills in the pre-teen years...etc.

All of the above, IMO have alot to do with a child's environment.
