MIAMI Gov. Rick Scott and his chief opponent, former Gov. Charlie Crist, both handily defeated opponents in their parties primaries on Tuesday.
Mr. Crist, a Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democrat, faced the tougher challenge, against Nan Rich, a former state senator who calls herself the real Democrat in the race. But he easily defeated her, The Associated Press reported.
With little statewide name recognition, Ms. Rich did not gain much traction in her efforts to sideline Mr. Crist. But political analysts were keeping an eye on Democratic turnout to see how much enthusiasm Mr. Crist, a moderate, has engendered among Democrats, who once viewed him as a political rival.

As if Democrats never voted for him in a GOP primary...
Charlie Crist! Come out of the closet!
dem pick the slimiest of them all. Crist isn’t even a leftist, he is whatever get him the power
Someone has been hitting Crist with some pretty good advertisements. They basically show him with a thief who openly stated that he bought judges by donations to Crist.
In the Florida Panhandle, turnout was light but it will heat up in the general election. I voted absentee.
Crist's opponent Nan Rich pulled 27% of the Dem primary vote.
Repub. Rick Scott received more votes than combined Dem gubernatorial candidates.

Floridians haven't forgotten.
Name recognition is so much easier than neuron exertion, isn’t it? I mean, that thinking stuff, that stuff hurtz!
So now the voters here in Florida have a choice between The Orange Guy (Crist), and the Undertaker, (Scott). I’m going with Scott in the general election. I went and voted this morning before I went to work, and except for the governor’s race it was mostly regional. But I had no excuse. Our polling place is at the library four blocks from my house, and I am a registered Republican with a valid Florida driver’s license. And I happen to like Rick Scott. He jump-started Florida’s economy by convincing Northern businesses to relocate here, because Florida has no state tax. And he doesn’t have to worry about unions trying to strongarm him, because this is a Right To Work state. The only unions that are allowed to exist in Florida are the local government and Disney.
Rick Scott is not a strong conservative, but he is better than the two last Republican governors - Jeb ‘Illegals Welcome’ Bush and Charlie ‘I’m Confused what I am’ Crist.
RE: The Orange Guy (Crist), and the Undertaker, (Scott).
Can you explain the monicker given to these two dudes?
You are right on the money!!! Rick Scott will slaughter Charlie Crist in the general election coming up in November!!! Shucks...he slaughtered him last eve ning in the primary!!! Florida as Texas will go bright “Red” across the board!!! Rick....don’t let up for one second!!! Ditto for all Pubbies running throughout the state of Florida!!! Carl Domino.....hit it hard and take out that deadbeart, do nothing Obamabot/Pelosi stooge, Patrick Murphy is the FL18CD!!!
Let’s hope the Crist brings Obama into the state to campaign with him....then Obama can get the same cold reception like he got yesterday afternoon at the American Legion!!!
Charlie Crist (Democrat) always sports a weird-looking orange tan. And Rick Scott (Republican) is tall, thin, pale and bald. Looks like an undertaker from an old-time Clint Eastwood movie. Hence the monikers.
