WaPo got it wrong about the Jennings police department. It was disbanded due to financial problems. The city could no longer afford to maintain a police department, so it contracted with St. Louis County to take over police duties for the city. A new department was not created, and nobody reapplied for jobs; the jobs no longer existed. So the officers applied for jobs with other police departments; some with St. Louis County and others with neighboring police departments. Officer Wilson went to Ferguson.
So the Washington Post lied about everything in this story from the git go. I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked!
