Thanks, that was what I was thinking. The brakes on ours must have held better than theirs when revved up.

The Russians are big users of air brakes (a parachute), but Mickey D stopped using a chute with the Phantom, IIRC.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I really miss the old days of McDonnell-Douglass, General Dynamics, Lockheed, Grumman, Northrup, etc.
Oh well. All things must pass, they say, especially on this road we've taken or been made to take.
