A lot of this can’t be blamed on the medical industry. Those people, on the whole, certainly eat better (and less), and many more practice an ancient form of exercise called... “honest hard work”.
FYI-my sister, a hard core Socialist, blames all this on the insurance companies(one of the FEW things she doesn’t blame on GWB). She is sure that it will get much better when the Government is in charge of everything. I rarely talk to her anymore.
