Woman fired for this Facebook post about Ferguson

A woman is out of a job today because of a violent Facebook post she made about the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.

"The police need to just start mowing them down with machine guns, purge them," she wrote, apparently in reference to the people protesting the shooting death of Michael Brown.

But she does have freedom of speech on the Facebook

The "protesters" (read looters)should be warned to go to their homes first, then shot if they fail to disperse; otherwise she had the right idea. (it is called "The Riot Act.")

Speaking of the "Riot Act," I have yet to see reports of a single prosecution for felony child endangerment, for bringing babies and toddlers to a riot.

What's the deal?
Stupidity grants legal immunity from serious felony prosecution?

One is the criminal element, i.e. the out-of-town thugs that are looting and stealing.

The way I read that is that if you're a local thug looting and stealing...

...it's perfectly OK.

Nice.

There you go / you just admitted you really didn’t take issue about her right to speak. You assumed she was going to commit mass murder by a thought.

Huh? She has a right to say things, even stupid things, but she has no right to force her employer to employ her. I don't believe she was committing "mass murder by a thought," but I can see why an employer wouldn't want to have an idiot on their staff who is embarrassing them. Nothing in the First Amendment tells employers who they can and cannot hire.

How many employees do you have.

I directly oversee a staff of about ten at the moment, but have managed hundreds of people and budgets in the billions. More importantly, I'm familiar with the law.

I have had as many as1500 in my life as number one or two shot caller slash owner You cannot fire someone for any reason you want baring contract or local law....your words more or less The more contentious the reason for firing...theft or morals.......the more careful you better be

In the United States (not sure where you're located) all employment is at-will, meaning you're allowed to terminate any employee for any reason or no reason, except if a contract explicitly states otherwise or you're violating the law in some other respect, by discriminating on the basis of race or gender for example. Often employers will have their own HR guidelines for termination that go beyond this, but those are self-imposed. As for documentation -- I agree with you that's a very good idea; oftentimes terminated employees will claim discrimination or some other bad act, but that's about CYA rather than something that's explicitly required by law.

Agreed. Indirect weapon fire would be much more efficient. 81 mm mortars come to mind.

Face the fact! Due to the degeneration of American politicians blacks are currently a privileged class. To put it another way the black cannot commit a crime, call a riot a “peaceful demonstration” and there are no limits on what a black can loot and whom a black may assault. Lord we are sick, worshiping a group that has caused our people nothing but misery for as long as there has been an association.

You attack someone. They shoot and kill you. Who’s rights got taken away?

You need to sign out and don’t log back in until after you graduate high school...
