The redskins management should run a full page ad in the monday Washington post with a count of the number of times the editorial section actually mentioned the redskins in the last five years. They should also politely inform the sports section staff that if they still want access to team staff, they better come out against this stupid stunt and fast.
Does the washington times have a sports section? A lot of the dwindling population of newspaper subscibers want that sports section for their home town team. The majority of post readers may not care about sports, but the management will notice a dent in subscriptions and ad revenue.
For decades the Compost wrote stories about their beloved “Redskins.” Only now does the name become “offensive.” Why now? Because it is politically correct to be offended. Somewhere in hell, the editorial staff of the 1930s Pravda have taken a break from their eternal misery to smile, even if only for a moment.
