Remember that scene in Minority Report, where Tom Cruise is on the run from the law, but is unable to avoid detection because everywhere he goes there are constant retina scans feeding his location back to a central database? Thats tomorrow. Today, Google is tracking wherever your smartphone goes, and putting a neat red dot on a map to mark the occasion.
You can find that map here. All you need to do is log in with the same account you use on your phone, and the record of everywhere youve been for the last day to month will erupt across your screen like chicken pox.

Mine says no location history, even though I keep location turned on for a running app.
A few years ago when I was the last person in the world to still not own a cellphone, someone suggested TracFone. Great advice. I’m still paying only $20 every 3 months.
Ever wonder how they show traffic conditions on google maps? It’s from tracking people’s phone locations.
I looked my info up, and oddly it only shows my activities out of state and out of the country. It doesn’t show my (frequent) Google Maps usage around where I live.
If they followed me around, they would be bored to death. It is creepy, but if someone wants to find out about you, there are many ways to go about it. Stalkers just follow people around.
Same here, no history data.
Me, too.
Or don’t use a gmail account. I don’t, and the map showed nothing for me.
“Google has, ahem, a partner. Probably one of the worst-kept secrets in America.”
How do you think they get a former military base for their private use, and Gov fuel prices for their fleet of jets, that also ferry Dem Congress people around?
I don’t need a cellphone unless I commute or the car gets dodgy.
People look at me like I’m from Mars when I tell them I don’t have one.
I’m where I’m supposed to be usually and don’t really want people to be able to reach me wherever I am. Don’t want to be plugged in 24/7 to social media and all of it.
If you feel differently to each their own.
They must not care about me yet. Nothing.
Then why is it that when someone steals your phone, you can’t ever find it even when you leave the service running?
Potentially, they have the capacity to keep close track, but do they do it? Even your service provider won’t do it. Police won’t either unless the phone is valued at over $500 in which case it becomes a felony.
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take-
We'll be watching you.
Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Everywhere you stay-
We'll be watching you.
Oh, can't you see
We've tapped your ISP
Looking for law-breaks
With every step you take...
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake-
We'll be watching you.
Anywhere you go you leave a trace
And everyone on-line can see your face
Look around, and it's you that we can place
--A very cold and cruel "embrace"--
And we don't have to ask you, "Please."
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
We'll be watching you
We'll be watching you...
You should have to do that to turn it on, not to turn it off.
I keep getting a map to my ‘office’ or to my home on my phone that also gives me an estimated driving time.
I already know where my home and office are, and don’t need this extraneous info, so how can I delete this annoying feature?.
People look at me like Im from Mars when I tell them I dont have one.
Same here. I hate the damn things. And I hate when people call me from one--half the time I can't hear half the things they're saying. People are morons who use them for important calls unless it's some kind of emergency (and even then they should apologize for using a cell saying they're using it only because there's no land line available).
When people make important calls to me from a cell phone, I have come to automatically view them as a notch lower on the professionalism scale.
“You have no location history from July 24, 2014 to August 22, 2014”
I turned off location access on my phone the day I got it.
