The Middle East is confusing.

A piece by General Allen yesterday said that elements of Syrian rebels, Kurds and Sunnis should be used under a unified command to defeat the Islamic State (the IS ir ISIS).

“The Kurds, the Sunnis and the Free Syrian resistance elements of the region are the “boots on the ground” necessary to the success of this campaign, and the attack on IS must comprehensively orchestrate these diverse forces across the entire region. “

Hamas is ISIS and vice versa according to Israel’s Netanyahu.

Hezbollah, Assad in Syria and Iran are tied together. Iran is Shi’ite and ISIS executes Shia and releases Sunni.

So only those with detailed knowledge of the various tribal elements such as General Allen can sort out a plan to defeat the IS.

McCain should be fully informed but he is a shill for other interests that conservatives are opposed to. Conservatives are in a bad position here. As Kurds and others achieve some roll back of ISIS, Obama gets credit and democrats get a boost in November as the party that best manages the region. On the other hand if ISIS gains more traction, Obama can’t blame the situation on GW Bush and the republicans any longer but then ISIS can solidify and win long term gains.

Even if republicans take the Senate and hold the House, ISIS expansion continues. And the republican leadership that controls the House and Senate are bought and paid for by the same oligarchs that bought and paid for the democrats. So conservatives are left out in the cold.

If Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin or someone similar takes the White House in 2016, and tea party conservatives gain leadership of the House and Senate, ISIS will be established and only full scale war designed to destroy them will work.

I'm slightly more optimistic about that -- barring any major terror event here, I don't think the 'Rat base cares one whit about foreign policy. If anything, they view anything that could be construed as an American success as a net negative.

All the 'Rat base cares about at this point is their free $h!t.
