And that goes to the heart of the real issue. It isnt just about class; it is also about culture. There is an attitude in some communities of you owe me, an attitude that when one is growing up ones parents dont work or are always between jobs, always trying to get from the man what was taken. One isnt encouraged at age 15 to save money and get a job, but rather to take. And we saw that attitude in the Michael Brown video where he goes into a shop and takes whats his and throws the elderly owner out of the way.
There are different cultures. There is the culture of the middle-aged owner of that shop, who probably worked from a young age; and the attitude of Michael Brown who stole cigars and pushed those who dared oppose him out of his way.
I saw that growing up in Maine, which is one of the poorer states in the union and is predominantly white. There are sub-cultures of people who never work who are always sitting around drinking and who are in and out of law enforcement problems. And there are people who are raised from a young age to work hard.

Bump.
Its about genetics.
Please explain.
Always has been, in nearly every culture with a few notable exceptions.
The problem in the US and Europe is that these "angry have nots's" are being used by radical Marxists of all stripes to create havoc in our society. They are being fed a diet of hate, specific to their situation and race. It is now being taught in our classrooms and the leadership is now in Washington DC.
Current led by no other than King Barry Obamster....
I started working full-time at 14. Of course I cheated... I had a dad at home, who grew up during the depression (and a WWII vet) to help raise me. My success was due to what he taught me, not what he gave me.
That’s why I have always said I am not a racist, but I am a pretty hard core culturalist. I have traveled to 32 countries, most in the third world. In fact, I just literally walked in the door from two months in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I have seen real poverty, but even in the poorest of poor places I have been in deepest Africa, I have never seen the festering cultural rot of american inner cities.
Africa American males are 13 to 16 times more likely to commit a violent robbery where a person is injured than their white counterparts. Demographic adjustments do not change this. Robbery by rioting and mob violence comes naturally to black persons. It is genetically based, not learned or the result of not enough money. Their underclass/persecution based grievances are pretextual not causal.
Cubs Fan must be a Windy City resident. Chicago ghetto culture has not changed one iota from the 1960s. I was there. I took the el from Oak Park down to Washington & Dearborn, transferred to the State St subway north to Chicago Ave and then walked to Quigley North at Pearson & Rush, in 1965/66. Then I switched to St Ignatius for sophomore year, at Racine and Roosevelt, and had to walk past the housing on Racine to get to school. My dad’s building was at Madison & Kilbourn in 1968 and much of that block burned down after MLK was shot. The inner city ghetto has not changed at all in these intervening 50+ years, and the reasons for this massive dysfunction remain the same: the nuclear family is non-existant.
People’s basic attitudes toward others are formed by about the age of four. “Programs” or school can do virtually nothing to repair the damage done by the absence of a father—or the presence of a narcissistic father.
The “black community” will remain pathological until there is a massive, all-pervasive religious and cultural revival—and even then, the “community” won’t recover for a generation or two, at least.
Meanwhile, babies left alone in cribs screaming their heads off for food or attention will continue to grow up to be thugs by the time they are ten. Thugs like Brown are complete, irreformable failures as human beings, much like jihadis.
Like Muslim boys, who are raped and raped and raped as boys, fatherless black boys grow up with uncontrollable rage, though from a different trauma.
One of the commonest sins of mankind, which is hardly ever spoken of, precisely because it is so common, is that even fathers who are present set about destroying their sons almost from birth, simply because the father is too narcissistic to endure the emotional ups and downs experienced as his sons grow up. The destructive rage of the father is often focused on one son, who endures coldness, neglect, verbal abuse, and beatings.
Thats why I have always said I am not a racist, but I am a pretty hard core culturalist.
Ditto that. I think people often underistimate the importance of culture. Culture is what allows modern man to build jets, rockets, computers and skyscrapers instead of sitting in caves looking for their next meal.
But more to the point--People who live in cultures or subcultures that do not prepare them well for the world (cultures where for example--working for a living, or getting good grades in school is eschewed) they will probably not do very well.
we saw that attitude in the Michael Brown video where he goes into a shop and takes whats his and throws the elderly owner out of the way.See, thats the thing - he didnt build that. Somebody else made that happen. </sarcasm>
It is certainly true, of course, that nobody does anything alone; society helps, encourages, rewards. But society is not the same thing as government:SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher. If government rewards the promotion of looting, owners of stores will suffer first - but society generally will also suffer for the want of anyone willing to exercise initiative to supply its wants, when such initiative is not reliably rewarded.Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil . . . - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)
Cool Yep, I've been an oak park resident for the last almost 30 years.
I see. Well, then I guess God is at fault.
I mean, if it is genetically based, it means that that was His design.
I learn something new everyday!
“Its about genetics.”
Read about “smart fraction”. Read Galton: “Hereditary Genius”. Social stratification (class) and genetics work together.
No, God has a plan. You and I just don’t know what it is.
This culture is the socialists life blood, without it they would be in dire straights. Either they are very wealthy, some highly educated, but dumb and ignorant when it comes to politics, even so they think otherwise. And the rest is the so called “Culture” of ignorant and dumb, often poor constituents, always in demand and catered to by socialists for the sole reason to keep them in perpetual power.
The parenting in the black community is actually worse then that.
I’ve seen this over and over.
Kid acts up, yells, demands stuff, runs wild, nothing happens.
This happens over and over.
Then the kid does something real minor, and mom hauls off and smacks the kid, yells obscenities at kid. The response to the behaviors is completely random. Most of the time nothing, then without warning blam, overkill.
This is guaranteed to raise a kid who is psychotic.
Try to train a dog that way and you will have a vicious, unpredictable animal.
I don’t have tv, cable, internet bills, a self-phone, cigarettes, or most of the other “expenses” that make it so hard for them to make ends meet. I still have a ton of debt, monthly bills, etc. I have to pay.
Rioting and looting never cross my mind.
