If you’ve ever talked to a cop or prosecutor you would learn how unreliable witnesses can be. Especially ones who only saw some of an incident. Especially witnesses with a racial animus. Particularly ones who don’t understand how law enforcement works. Etc, Etc. In other words what witnesses “saw” is highly subjective, and subject to personal prejudice and distortion.

It has been my experience that after an encounter, people's 'remembrance' of the event is not based on what they saw, heard, or said. It is based on how they 'felt' about what they saw, heard, or said.
