Scorning the necktie is a well known symbol of disdain for the West, initiated and used especially by anti-American Iranian fanatics. Find pictures of Ahmadinejad--plenty out there but you won't find him wearing a neck tie in any of them.

Not donning a skinny colorful bib is not anti West - at least in my view...
