The sophistication, wealth and military might of Islamic State militants pose a major threat to the United States that may surpass that from al Qaeda, U.S. military leaders said on Thursday.
"They are an imminent threat to every interest we have, whether it's in Iraq or anywhere else," Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told reporters at the Pentagon about the militant group, which has seized a third of Iraq and released a video this week showing one of its fighters beheading an American hostage.
Asked if Islamic State posed a threat to the United States comparable to that of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, Hagel said the group was "as sophisticated and well-funded as any group we have seen.

If this statement is true, EVERY INTEREST WE HAVE, then it is a Treasonous Crime for Congress to not declare WAR upon them.
The same could be said of any POTUS that does not prosecute that war until the last man is dead.

Probably the least covered story of the year was that Intelligence briefed Obama of the ISIS threat right before they started their Iraqi incursion.
No telling how much blood will be on his hands before this is over.

Bush understood the threat to our national interest. Obama and liberals are under the terribly mistaken notion that terrorists will leave us alone if we leave them alone. They're going to learn the hard way that's a myth and unfortunately, many innocent people are going to suffer because of the liberal blindness.

I was born in 1935 and can’r say I saw it but I heard and have read about a army that was just as bad, without the modern accouterments that ISIS/ISIL has, do the same barbaric atrocities in China! Nanking!
Hopefully it won’t take years to end this BS.

This won’t end in years - unless we turn Mecca into a crater that glows in the daylight, it will never end.
As I said, nobody really cares. The national pain and fear levels haven’t yet sufficiently risen to the point where they force people to re-evaluate their thinking and opinions. But, I believe the country is finally starting to worry that things are getting seriously out of control. Everywhere you look, the country is a mess. An absolute mess. And while Rome burns, Obama escapes to the golf course.
When Carter was president, we experienced an era of considerable economic pain and also the very real fear that America was losing its grip in the world. Unfortunately, that type of realization is required to bring about a change in leadership IMO.
Obama has been a national debacle. And things are going to get a lot worse over the next two years. I hope the country has learned a useful lesson from this experience.

How can we protect from attack with open borders?
ISIS is taking terrorism up to to another level. I don’t think people appreciate this fact yet. But they soon will.
BTW, I think Great Britain is waking up. They have an intrenched community of ISIS operatives. Cameron cut his vacation short to get his country on the right course to deal with this threat.
Meahwhile, Obama is ON THE GOLF COURSE avoiding the threat.
