ATLANTA (AP) After nearly three weeks of treatment, the two American aid workers who were infected with the deadly Ebola virus in Africa have been discharged from an Atlanta hospital, officials said Thursday.
An official at Emory University Hospital stressed that their release poses no public health risk, and Dr. Kent Brantly, 33, called it a miraculous day.
I am thrilled to be alive, to be well, and to be reunited with my family. As a medical missionary I never imagined myself in this position, Brantly said. He spoke at a news conference after his release Thursday. Nancy Writebol, 59, was released Tuesday, and her husband said in statement emailed by aid group SIM that that she is free of the virus but in a weakened condition and was recuperating at an undisclosed location.

Does this mean the virus shows as undetectable in his body? what kind of miracle drug works that fast on a virus?

Most viruses take a couple of days to a couple of weeks for the body to fight off.

Does this mean they found a cure? You would think they would be banging drums and shouting to heaven if they had. Curious.
To: PatrioticRose
They don’t know if experimental drug Zmapp is responsible for their cure or if they recovered on their own.

There’s a heckuva difference between finding a cure and having enough to treat the masses.

So they found a cure for this? No. There is a medication, ZMapp, that was given to a VERY FEW patients. Some of those patients have recovered. But up to 40% of patients recover anyway, without ZMapp, so there is no way at all to attribute their recovery to ZMapp.

I’m sure prayers were answered. . .everyone needs to get their supply of silver biotics and asap gel, some extra virgin organic coconut oil and “food grade” diatomaceous earth and get ready to tie down the hatches. Do the research. . . . Be Ready! Pray! http://www.patburt.com/

“Up to” 40%. Apparently 100% of those given ZMapp recover. Of course, the numbers are too low to be empirical, so maybe they should broaden it. I'd like to see them issue it to the people in that peninsula that has been quarantined. Why don't they?

Great. Great for them. If this idiot goes back to Africa, (wanna bet??) then he shouldn’t be saved again.
And not for nothing, but how would you like to be his wife?? Next time he wants to get, uhhh... intimate? It’s not like there’s a lot of people around to discuss or use as a case study.
That would scare the hell out of me.
