The private security contractor Asymmetric Solutions deployed its military-level High Threat Team to provide security for a client in Ferguson this week.
The Missouri-based company is headed by former Navy SEAL Jared Ogden and is staffed by other SEALs, as well as Green Berets and former SWAT and FBI officers, according to its website, which states, Asymmetric Solutions additionally employs adjunct staff from a variety of military special operations units, government agencies, and law-enforcement tactical units. The company also provides military-level security and combat training to private and government clients.
We have staff working to augment an outside security detail of an individual who is visiting the Ferguson, MO area from outside the state, the company stated on its Facebook page Wednesday. We are not working to protect the state, police, individuals who are exercising their right to speak and assemble, or to keep peace in any way.
Normally our security services group is needed only in the most high threat of environments. We are saddened that they are required in the area, the company said. This incident is not representative of what is normally a peaceful and harmonious city full of good people. We hope it is resolved quickly.
The company stated that it ended its mission Wednesday night. Daily Caller correspondents also met at least one self-identified private security professional during their coverage in Ferguson.
Wonder if there will be a US “Nisour Square” incident?
They maybe know that Wilson is going to be acquitted?
Security for Holder, no doubt.
This is the future; private security for people who know the police are unreliable and politicized. These incidents should go a long way towards increasing segregation as well; an increasing number of whites will never see black people except all over TV, especially as Hispanics replace them in the workforce...
But it looks like he’s going to furgeson. Where that?
Yeah, or somebody equally indiscrete. Why advertise?
Opsec kinda sucks. This makes me think Holder rather than Officer Wilson. If it were Wilson, there would be no info release.
Holder doesn’t trust his own people.
Sure. Or maybe you saw an opportunity for a little free PR exposure. In a few days you'll release a "summary" of how well your team did - so good in fact no-one saw you and your charge coming or going.
In other words “After Holder leaves you people are on your own”.
OPSEC non-existent. That's what makes me think it is a PR stunt and there is no client at all. Real security would never release any information in advance, and usually little or none after the fact. OPSEC means denying any information to present or future potential adversaries.
If they really do have a client, he/she should be their last. Anyone considering hiring security should skip these guys. They will compromise your security for something as stupid as a little notoriety and free advertising.
