Probably the latter. The vast majority of people speaking out on the issue of Indian nicknames are white liberals. Few if any actual Indians are speaking out on this issue.

Follow the money. There will be someone collecting a penalty and “redistributing your wealth” when liberals are involved. Notice that they never do it to their own just old white money. Kanye West, Snoop Dog, Jay Z, etc...won’t ever get touched because they’re liberal rich black men...

It all reminds me of the way the NCAA went after the University of North Dakota over the "Fighting Sioux" nickname and logo. The logo was designed by an Indian (Bennett Brien), and the Spirit Lake Elders saw nothing objectionable in the logo nor the nickname. But there was a pantload of do-gooder liberals to get their ersatz breechcloths in a wad over it all and force the issue after years of litigation.
