It all reminds me of the way the NCAA went after the University of North Dakota over the "Fighting Sioux" nickname and logo.

Being as I went to the University of North Dakota, I am still PO'd about it. Not just UND, but also Grand Forks Central High School, which used to be called the Redskins, bowed to PC, and changed their name to the Knights. The other high school, the Red River Rough Riders, never changed their name, even if other whites think it is racist against Teddy Roosevelt and his troops. It is a shame we have to deal with such scum sucking dirt bag idiots.

I agree, especially when the name "Fighting Sioux" was in no way derogatory to a warrior culture.

What ticked me off even more was the ongoing waste of money and effort to fight a battle that never should have been.

Beyond that, there is the inherent denigration of an entire people found in the supposition that they need someone from outside their tribe to be offended for them, an implication that they are not competent to take offense when warranted. Now, THAT is demeaning.
