LANDOVER, Md. -- The "Hands up, don't shoot" protest has made its way to the NFL.
The Washington Redskins secondary emerged from the stadium tunnel during pregame introductions Monday night with hands raised and palms forward.
It was a show of solidarity with the people in Ferguson, Missouri, who are protesting the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Eleven players took part as the team was preparing to face the Cleveland Browns.
Safety Ryan Clark said Brown "could have been any one of us. That could have been any one of our brothers, our cousins. ... When you get an opportunity to make a statement and be more than a football player, it's good."
Protesters have gathered daily in Ferguson since Brown was fatally was shot by a police officer Aug. 9.

I never liked the foreskins anyways. This reinforces that sentiment.
They did it on Monday night football. Guess a name change is appropriate after all. The washington idiots. Not to be confused with congress.
I don't doubt it Ryan. Some in your family are probably thugs, including you.
well, that changes everything.
So this one player says it could have been any one of them? really? So he is admitting that big numbers of NFL players are thugs and gang members?,, really??
They just lost a lot of their support. They may as well
forget keeping their Redskins title name now probably because they will be thrown under the bus. Like, who cares now.
Now seems appropriate the team was named after a race that never advanced beyond tee-pee development.
I think the criminal in this situation was michael brown....
A couple of Pittsburgh Stealers got to do their own for real version of the Brownie Hands Up Shuffle today.
The last time I paid to see an NFL game was some time in the 1980s. They obviously don’t need my business. However, if people who disagree with this act joined forces and boycotted...
To be fair, they should bring out a cop at half time and beat him up, smashing his eye socket, then try to steal his gun.
How are the people chanting “We want justice” going to react when justice says that the cop was in the right, exercising his right to defend himself from a second round of grievous and potentially fatal harm?
They might as well change their name to Waste of Skins.
Perhaps the Linebackers or defensive ends can better emulate Mr. Browns actual actions.
Media attention whores ...all of ‘em. Bet we wouldn’t be hearing one peep if a 6’ 5”, 300 lb white man robbed a store and was killed by a black officer. Not one....crickets....
Why didn’t they offer the poor guy at least a chance to make the team as a walk-on? /s
