I’ll say you are half right. True the speaker and Lt. Governor have more positional power, but the Governor has enough administrative policy powers to direct agency and commission activities to meet needed objectives. That’s a little bit more than a cheerleader IMO.
You're waiting for a long time where a train don't come if you are trying to gin up support for Perry.
Besides, it's way too early for this particular fight. Perry may decide to retire completely.
