Yes.... I am watching local news - they finally jumped in regular programming as soon as the cell phone was stolen. KTVI (Fox2) has someone mixed in with the protesters.
Most reporters (local) are in with the crowd filming.
That’s all that’s there.
I sure believe it!!
That’s the way I heard it too. The police want to help the people who actually live in the neighborhood get through so they can go home.
Pool (?), the guy on VICE says the media is exacerbating the situation, and he says it’s “odd.”
‘I am Mike Brown’ is back up for a short video. Says that he lost the signal as did other reporters - noone could send data. He is in parking lot by Target waiting for a presser and signs off until something happens.
Still working: http://new.livestream.com/accounts/9649227/events/3301474
There are about 5 protestors left?
One thing that should come of this is exactly WHO is considered “Media”. In the modern age of instant news by individuals, pretty much anywhere on the globe, it’s a question that needs to be asked.
Is it the recognized TV stations that or former glory newspapers that pay a yearly fee to some group?
Is it the guy streaming on his phone to 100,000 people, live? (Sometimes more than is watching, reading the “Recognized” Media)
Is it some guy with a web page? Is VICE, Breibart, or Buzzfeed, with millions of daily readers considered “media”? Is Free Republic?
Or is it ONLY to be those “recognized” by the pols in charge? Will only reporters that play along with local pols get “Credentials”?
just caught CNN - there is an area with a big “approved protest area” lit up sign like a highway traffic kinda sign - was it there before?
just a really quick view before they cut to commercial
seemed to be people there
Dang....is he all alone? Seems like most of the media is at McDonalds!
I think it must be EXTREMELY easy to get press creds.
Yeah. he also said he is seeing 90% journalists....lol
Priceless video is posted on top of page. Muhammed? seems very sad about missing out on tonight's action due to "No.Network.Error". Also glumly reports that tweets were a no-go:
if am understanding correctly ... media is being forced into this area except those having gone to where press conference will be held. Think press conference is at Target. Vice just said 90% plus in that area is media.
Yes. The police lit up a parking lot with a flood light and told the protesters (very few of them left) that they could stay there all night if they want to, but they have to stay in that parking lot. Still some controversy over whether the police will allow any members of the media to stay in the parking lot as well.
bkm for calling it a night.
If I had a Hamburger it would be McDonald’s Royale with Cheese. Singed Ronald McDonald.
yes all evening - this is the new area they set up today. - it is what they call the old ford dealership. It sits next to the Public Storage and in between the McDonalds & Public Storage. Google Map Ferguson MO
I’m thinking about that Double Jalapeño thing. Or my standard Big Mac.
