Why can’t she just be described as an American? Does being a hyphenated named ‘single mom’ afford her more sympathy from the masses or something? Would what happened be less significant if she had a husband at home?

If what happened to her is wrong or outrageous, than it is that way because she’s an American on American soil. Not because of her color or marital status or the bad breaks life has given her.

Maybe IBD doesn’t realize that giving their editorial a politically correct tone calls in to question its objectivity. Regardless of the merits of the editorial.

Normally, I would agree 100%. In this particular case, using her race, and even her single-Mom status, gives some perspective about what drives the Leftist race-baiters to protest. She is suffering a more egregious Constitutional abuse than the dead thug, but none of those who "demand justice or no peace" give a damn about her.
