Liberia's corrupt government continues to do the wrong thing in addressing the Ebola epidemic there.
Whatever little confidence that the givernment has enjoyed is being eradicated by this blatant lying. Coupled with the closure of one of the newspapers continued civil unrest is bound to escalate.
No news about Ebola and containment efforts will be believed by the citizens. The efforts of foreign medical volunteers just became more difficult by an order of magnitude or more.
"Mr Nyenswah had said that all the suspected patients had been transferred to an Ebola treatment centre in the John F Kennedy Memorial Medical Center in Monrovia.
But on Monday, the information minister said 17 of the 37 patients were unaccounted for.
Media caption The current outbreak is the deadliest since Ebola was discovered in 1976 He said the authorities were now trying to track them down but said he was confident they would return.
"Most of the people that went into this holding facility came there voluntarily," he told the BBC.
"So our impression is that they still want to be [there], but they were forcibly removed by vandals and looters, not because they wanted to leave; so we are sure that they will return."
He said the attack on the quarantine centre was Liberia's "greatest setback" since the Ebola outbreak began."
Some people (cultures) are just not worth saving.
BBC posted two hours ago that 17 of the missing Liberian Ebola patients have in fact not been found yet.
(All previous statements by the Liberian gov are hereby consigned to the memory hole.)
A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or carry ebola back to his village.
A kidnapped ebola patient is a bioweapon.
Yeah. The kind that blows up on you while you are trying to put it together. Reminds me of the terrorists who blow themselves up while building bombs.

As I understand it all they would have to do is draw out some blood from an ebola patient, drink a bit and swish it around in their mouths after biting their cheeks and they will be infected. Then since it takes times to incubate... they then need to get the USA within 2-4 weeks...
If they take the “crazy train” across mexico they could potentially infect a lot more people in the process of getting into the USA...
Add to that the fact they could take cold meds to delay the appearence of intial symptoms... we have a “Walking Dead Ebola Outbreak”....
This is some scary @$$ $hy!7
Crossing the border at the Rio Grande very soon, more than likely.
I’m speechless....
“Blood-stained mattresses, bedding and medical equipment were taken from the centre, a senior police officer told BBC News, on condition of anonymity.
“This is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen in my life,” he said. “All between the houses you could see people fleeing with items looted from the patients.”
The looting spree, he added, could spread the virus to the whole of the West Point area.”

My understanding of the disease would be that it would be very unlikely that they left under their own power.
COULD?!?!?!
WILL!!!!!
They’ll return after infecting half the country. How many hopped on the first international flight they could find?
I saw a comment elsewhere that stated there are 1,000 or more ebola Jihadis already in the U.S. ready for the blow-up orders.
Thanks for the ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Where did you see this?
