If one wants respect, then one must be respectful and then earn respect.
If one wants to 'get ahead in this world and not be held back', then one gets up in the morning, gets a job (regardless what it is or what it pays).
One also is on the job, rain or shine, every day, no matter how one feels.
Know this, employers don't care what one's color is as long as one does the job and earns their pay.
That is how one gets ahead and is not held back.
All of these blacks who say they are being held back wouldn't be held back if they did the above.
Jeremiah 17:9
“Know this, employers don’t care what one’s color is as long as one does the job and earns their pay.”

That much is true but employers have to deal with federal government interference in hiring and the federal government promotes and encourages racial preference and penalizes hiring and promoting people based only on ability and performance without regard to race. The government DOES care about one’s color. I’m sure I don’t need to say the rest, we all know just WHAT color the government likes best. Forty years ago my employer at that time asked me to try to find an applicant who fit the government mandate because the company was being harassed for not hiring anyone who fit the skin color requirement even though no such person had ever applied. Things have only gotten worse since then. I for one don’t care what color anyone is but I also refuse to apologize if I am easy to see when standing in front of a dark background.
