Consider how many laws and taxes have been passed and instituted via illegal and unconstitutional methods.
I think a Declaration of our liberties and rights free from tyranny has to go beyond just what Obama has done, for we need a Declaration of Independence from the Federal Beast itself.
Aside from adding two additions, it very much applies today - and I think this one bests the revision on Breitbart which does indeed excise references to Nature's God.

They have violated our Constitutionally-protected right to bear arms in outright infringement and by nefarious tax schemes intended to bar the right of the citizen to arms and possessions of arms to carry on his person or own in his own home.
They have bankrupted the entire nation in unfathomable and unrecoverable debt in behemoth government social programs robbing the treasury of the People by welfare ponzi schemes that have created mass entitlements designed to keep the people dependent on government assistance.
They have bankrupted the social security and medical aid programs that take by fiat, a portion of every income to support continued abuse and misappropriations by government bureaucrats.
They have bankrupted private industry by mandating regulations designed for cronyism and dependence of constituents to politicians for reelection.
They pass into law, thousands of pages of legislation, written by unknown persons and lobbyists without reading the bills or knowing what they contain.
They pass into law by inserting hidden 'riders' and 'pork', programs, taxes, regulations and tyranny into bills having nothing to do with the purpose of the proposed legislation.
They hamstring industry vital to national infrastructure by myriad regulations beholden to environmentalists that lobby Congress with money and advisement that ensure our national dependence on foreign energy supplies.
They have robbed wholesale the taxpaying public by nationalizing private business and industry, misappropriating billions of funds to bail out unspecified recipients and impoverishing the people and future generations of Americans in the process.
They have unconstitutionally mandated all citizens purchase government health insurance or face penalty.
They have designed bureaucratic panels to rule on matters of life and death in health care.
They pass laws on the citizenry that they exempt themselves from.
They have continually violated the law of the land and diminished the rights of American citizens by assisting in an invasion of foreign illegal immigrants providing entry and rein into the country without consequence at the expense of the citizenry for the purpose of expanding a political party with dependents.
They have provided aid and comfort to an Islamic enemy at war with the people of the nation, and afforded non-citizen enemy combatants with rights that are the sole province of American citizens.
The Courts have routinely legislated from the bench without any authority in cases brought before them.
The Courts have stated their decisions to rule according to foreign laws, personal life experiences and biases and not by the rule of the Constitution of the United States.
The courts, beholden to the Executive's Party have routinely declared laws passed by the will of the people in the several states to be null and void so as to promote policies and grant status to a minority promoting behaviors corrosive and hostile to the natural state and morality of the majority of the body politick.
The Courts have overturned the express will of the people who have petitioned and passed legislation to alleviate their burdens by personal political biases that are ruled unconstitutional based on wrongful precedents.
The Executive has refused his assent to Laws, rendering null and void by executive decree, those he seeks to diminish, and erected new laws without consent of Congress.
The Executive has decreed he will act unilaterally on his own authority, bypassing the Constitutionally-mandated protocols for passing legislation to become a defecto dictator.
The Executive has engaged in treason by denouncing his country and his countrymen on foreign soil while providing aid and comfort from the treasury to avowed enemies of the United States.
The Executive is engaged with facilitating an invasion of migrants into the country at taxpayer expense and circumventing immigration laws designed to ensure the domestic peace and tranquility of a civil society.
The Executive has pursued a goal of redistributing wealth and private property by demonizing private citizens and enacting policies designed to in his words "return the nation's wealth to their rightful owners".
The Executive is engaged in creating a standing civilian political army answerable only to him, that is "just as strong, just as large and just as well funded as the military".
The Executive is engaged in a preemptive and constant program of demagoguery and derision of political opponents to the point of using federal agencies to declare opponents "domestic terrorists" and to turn the citizenry against specific individuals and professions in order to enact takeovers of those properties.
The Executive has established a government snitch program by requiring citizens report opponents of the President's policies to a White House website that collected the information of 'dissidents' for further use in violation of the Constitution and law.
The Executive has unlawfully and unconstitutionally breached the Separation of Powers and duties specifically assigned to Congress by running the Census out of the Oval Office with a host of invasive questions for the purpose of redistricting the nation to ensure permanent political office for their party.
The Executive has engaged in routine deception of his policies, plans and statements, even concealing his eligibility for the High Office that he holds by refusing to reveal and release information that would qualify his tenure.
The Executive has erected a multitude of New Czars, unaccountable, un-reviewable and untenable to oversight or the recall of the people who will make law and policy outside of legislation to send swarms of Officers to harass our people, eat out of their substance and impoverish classes of Americans.
The Executive has combined with others to subject us to an ideology and jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts without Legislation.
For protecting his agents who used their office to assault, intimidate and deprive American Citizens of their right to organize, having deemed them to be political enemies.
For absolving his agents of accountability for such actions, granting them immunity from investigation or punishment for any lawbreaking which they should commit on the citizens of these States.

What you describe may be closer to reality of what may be than a significant majority of Americans coming to their senses and casting off this yoke of tyranny from sea to shining sea.
What I've been supposing for a long while now.
This is civil war, even if it is only a "soft" civil war. In war, the winner gets to determine who is right. If you do this, you need to be prepared to take this to the end, and you better play to win. Otherwise it is just a futile gesture.
At this point in our national devolution into tyranny - what you suggest is INDEED a model we must follow - for it is the blueprint our Founders established and Providence blessed.
We must come to terms with THE FACT that the Federal Government no long has any legitimate, lawful authority over us. It has disqualified itself and ‘unkinged’ itself from rightful authority, because it acts wholly contrary to the Rule of Law as established. The IRS hearings with Koskinen bear witness to this truth.
Once this people come to that understanding, then we are justified to do as our forbears did, and refuse to comply with the edicts from an oligarchy that has no legitimate authority over us any longer.
That of course will reveal the true nature of the tyrant - and they will send out the king’s men to enforce their edicts by brute force…. and then we will know what time it is…. hopefully.

Agree completely. This goes back to the Lockeian definition of social contract. A contract works two ways and binds BOTH parties: we give up certain freedoms in exchange for which the government provides certain collective services to replace those freedoms. However, the white middle class is not being served by the government any longer, and hasn’t been for quite some time. Thus, the social contract is broken and we are no longer obligated to yield up our freedoms when all they do in empower our enemies.

A personal “gut-check” question I usually ask, and it is rhetorical, so no need to answer in a public forum please...

Those old fogie guys in white wigs didn’t just sit around at night after the dailies in Philadelphia...They usually went home and sat with their families making musket balls...They knew a fight was coming and not a lot of people were going to be very happy when the powers at be came down hard on them...

I believe we have already passed the point of no return, but there is a "culture lag" so to speak that allows most of us to think it hasn't happened, and some of us to think it is even still possible to not pass that point - that hope that man's innate optimism gives rise to regardless of the reality.
I feel that we are going to go into full police state mode (rather close to that now, but it is more covert than overt), or if not, into some sort of a Balkanization. If it is the former, which I see as more likely at this point, I have no gut feeling for how compliant and submissive the "thinking" portion of our citizenry will or will not be. That will to some degree be affected by how obvious and dramatic and clearly discernible the "point of no return" is. People talk as if they expect the worst, but deep down they just can't believe it is really going to happen. Until after it does.

Some areas that are already under a socialistic-lite control requiring little re-education (like most urban areas of the country???), thus heavy handed zones in urban areas that are not of the “correct” political mindset the latter has???
I do not believe it will be very easy to pacify areas where it is not considered compliant enough...
It will be bloody, messy and not very newsworthy if the propagandists cannot realistically present it to the masses of the compliant to prove they are totally in the right...But I am not going to hold my breath...
I believe your term “cultural lag” is really accurate...I would say it is also a “cultural denial (lack of reality)” that will work against the Constitutional originalist like myself...Those folks are all around you, I and many others...they are your friends, co-workers, neighbors and even family members...
I believe the “cultural lag” is very similar to that which preceded the first American Civil War...Where even families were ripped apart by the differences of opinion...And that is still a very dangerous condition...
Governments derive their "just power from the CONSENT of the governed"
We kick and scream about government...overbearing regulations...high taxes...corrupt financial system...destruction of the 2nd Amendment, but fail to stop and think that:
We CONSENT to overbearing regulations every time we ask permission from any government to improve our homes or businesses and need permits...
We CONSENT to high taxes every time we file that 1040...
We CONSENT to a corrupt financial system every time we spend or accept one of those "Federal Reserve Notes"...
We CONSENT to the destruction of our 2nd Amendment every time we walk into a gun store and submit to a background check.
The only way we're going to win is to stop consenting.
