The feds want to perform their own autopsy on Michael Brown, the unarmed teen shot dead by local police in Ferguson, Missouri, a week ago.
"Due to the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case and at the request of the Brown family, Attorney General Holder has instructed Justice Department officials to arrange for an additional autopsy to be performed by a federal medical examiner," Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon said in statement. "This independent examination will take place as soon as possible. Even after it is complete, Justice Department officials still plan to take the state-performed autopsy into account in the course of their investigation."

Nice neighborhoods don’t translate into tax dollars.
Look at the city budget documents. Low revenues. Dash Cams and computers are usually paid for by the local PD (see the budget docs and see where the PD is requesting funds for upgrading/buying computers for their department and vehicles). Test and validation programs are usually funded by the fed gov.
Zillow shows low cost homes, heck, even the most expensive home is below $200k: http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/Ferguson-MO/45261_rid/zest_sort/38.7757,-90.254402,38.722149,-90.323582_rect/12_zm/1_fr/
I would think that a report of the robbery had gone out to all officers though.
I thought 'wet' involved dipping in embalming fluid.
Priceless.
Lots of attention on this autopsy for MB
Apparently, the Fedgov feels a need to get somebody on their payroll involved.
This cant be good.
The Ferguson Police Department had recently purchased DASHCAMS for their police cars, but they had not been installed yet.
I already corrected myself on this.
I believe that (as long as the truth comes out) there was only ONE BULLET WOUND to Mike and that was in the head.
I wonder if Officer Wilson will be represented at this autopsy.
There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. ~ Booker T. Washington (1856-1915.) ~ Educator, Author, Civil Rights Leader
Apologies.
Got a link?
I’ve searched the budget docs for the city and see no mention of dash cams. Can you?
Neither have I, and since Mike taunted the cop with "whatcha gonna do, shoot me?", after he ran away, turned stopped and turned around and before he started charging back towards the officer, either he hadn't been shot at that point, or he was on drugs and didn't feel the bullet hit.
Why would they ? They've already received over $50,000 in donations to help them deal with their grief.
It is not the cost of the home that matters, this is a low cost state. Heck, the homes in Bellingham, WA sell for the same amount and a lot of the areas look very much the same as Ferguson. The average family wage in Bellingham, I am told, is $52,000. The government is the largest employer in the county. There are a lot of areas in WA, where the average wage is lower than that, and many of those areas are Republican, rural areas.
You just can’t blame the racial strife on income inequality.
Never did. Was responding to the issue on why there were no dash cams on the police vehicle.
Where did you get the idea I was “blame[ing] the racial strife on income inequality”?
Well, that's going to be a problem because most of the BLACK COPS in eastern Missouri do not want to work in Ferguson. Too dangerous.
(jeezus)
The Ferguson PD had purchased dashcams, but they had not been installed yet.
You might be correct. I think either one works.
Either way, a tox test will not be done on Mike. Even if it is, it will not be released as lawyers can block it based on their claim that police can't prove drugs were involved in this case. (yea, catch-22).
Link.
Budget docs are proof.
Prove me wrong, find it in the budget docs.
Not in the budget docs, didn’t happen.
Believe everything you hear on the TV or read in the papers?
(jeezus). . .back at ya.
