Its about Tom Delay.

Let's review: Delay was convicted and appealed. The 3rd court of appeals overturned the conviction last Sept. Lehmberg appealed to the State Court of Appeals, which is the highest criminal court in Texas. They agreed to hear the case last spring.

After Lehmbert's "episode", Perry saw the chance to save Delay. He first threatened to veto the entire funding to public corruption unit. Then Perry met with Lehmberg and told her if she would resign, he would find another job for her, which would allow him to appoint her replacement, who would squash the Delay prosecution.

She refused that deal, so Perry vetoed/cut funding for the entire public corruption unit trying undermine the prosecution, but the county came up with some funding to keep it going.
