Yesterday, Rick Perry was indicted on charges of abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant felonies that could potentially result in a life sentence after following through on his promise to veto state prosecutors investigating public corruption.
The left-leaning advocacy group, Texans for Public Justice, has largely pushed the issue, which stems from Perry threatening to cut $7.5 million over two years from the public integrity unit in order to pressure Rosemary Lehmberg, the Travis County District Attorney whose office oversaw that unit, to resign after she was convicted of driving under the influence.
While the courts will have to rule on the legitimacy of the charges, its not hard to see why Governor Perry may not want Rosemary leading an office.
No actually, I was a little off topic.
There most certainly a organized effort here. I am just suggesting that the door swings both ways.
Ya. But they will now get A LOT more attention.
Drunken sow............
Behaving like drunken ass in public, assaulting police officers, being convicted of DUI and refusing to resign for violation of this contract ALL fall within that clause.
The Governor can't be prosecuted for breaking the law when his Oath of Office requires him to uphold it. The line item veto in the State's budget is his tool for doing so.
Someone on Freep said it was THREE times the legal limit!!
Oh' they probably do know...they are progressive democrats so they are above "laws"...they don't apply to them..
Those things are tools for them to use against conservatives and the little people, to do their bidding...
Rick Perry on Fox News just said she was 3 times the legal limit and he is mad! Sic’em Rick!
.29
They’ve just f——d with the wrong Republican.
Give ‘em Hell, Rick!
It was slightly under 0.24 (three times the legal limit)...
So where the hell is this going? How do you see this mapping out? I can’t see how the RATS think this will help them.
She bees ug-ug-ugaly in and out. Perfect DemRat specimen.
Easy...political fodder for future campaigns...They will ask for several stays to keep this in the courts long as possible...
They now can run political ads and commercials claiming Rick Perry is a potential felon...
It doesn't matter that is it completely false and dishonest...we are talking progressives here...using Alinsky rules...
What else do you expect...?
Rick Perry isn’t W. He’s going to fight, and he’ll get dirty if he has to.
Guess Perry won’t be running for President-NEXT.
In the end this may wind up enhancing Perry’s chances.
Impeachment actually helped Bill Clinton politically.
It would surprise me if it went anywhere.
The rats won't care, though. They'll create yet another crisis to knash their teeth and wail over in order to distract from this one.
Just like they always have.
