Lawyer: Friend confirms that he and shooting victim had robbed convenience store

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) -- The friend who was with Michael Brown when he was shot and killed by a police officer near St. Louis over the weekend is reportedly confirming that he and Brown had taken part in the theft of cigars from a convenience store that day.
That word comes from the attorney for Dorian Johnson, speaking to MSNBC. Police in Ferguson had earlier announced that Brown was suspected of taking cigars from the convenience store in what was described as a "strong-arm robbery.

Brown thought he was about to be arrested for a Robbery, the officer thought he was dealing with someone walking in the street blocking traffic. ...Logically, who has more motivation to escalate this encounter to violence?... Brown not wanting to get arrested for a felony, or the police officer dealing with a jaywalker?

FERGUSON • Three more men were charged Friday in the hammer attack of a hot dog vendor at a Home Depot in August.
One of the three men is also a suspect in a Sept. 7 fatal shooting in St. Louis. Another was shot by St. Ann police in January 2011 after a chase.
Charged Friday were Darnell Hollings, 21, of the 2200 block of Sullivan Avenue in St. Louis; Anthony K. Norman, 20, of the 10600 block of Vorhof Drive in unincorporated St. Louis County; and Demon Ward, 21, of the 4500 block of Beacon Avenue in St. Louis. Each is charged with first- and second-degree assault and armed criminal action.
A fourth man, Charles D. Thomas, 23, of the 7000 block of Emma Avenue in Jennings, was charged Oct. 4 in the hammer attack. Bail for each was set at $200,000 cash.

Anthony Gray also addressed some people’s contention that the family was trying to portray Michael Brown as a kid who never got into trouble.
“This family has never said that Michael Brown Jr. was a perfect kid,” he said.
According to the graffiti on it, “Snitches get stitches” . Also, the number “187”, which I understand is the police code number for officer down.
On a scale of one to ten (perfect kid) where would they place him?
I’m not familiar with gang symbols, but I doubt they’re Indian (dot or feather) trendy signs.
