Most states have specific laws that apply to police officers in those situations. I think you should learn the law and history behind it before you whine and bitch about it on FR.

I know what the law says concerning citizens using deadly force. I have a CCL.

I'm pointing out the fact that if the same circumstances happened to me in my house - and I shot the perp on my front lawn while he was unarmed and not in my house or posing an immediate threat to me or mine - that I would be arrested and charged with manslaughter at minimum or murder - depending on the ambitions of the state prosecutor.

I’ll give you the point of state prosecutor and that may apply in your state. In my state it the local prosecutor.

Yes, but the 'shooter' wasn't a citizen, he was a police officer who had been assaulted.
