A large police SWAT team showed up to a peaceful demonstration in Ferguson, Missouri and the scene is getting increasingly tense, reports Huffington Post's Ryan J. Reilly, who is currently on the ground.
Soon after the team of more than 70 officers came on the scene, they told protesters they needed to leave the area and that "this [was] not open for discussion," Reilly tweeted. MSNBC reporter Trymain Lee tweeted that police told the crowd, "Go home, return to your vehicles. The protesters responded, "Mike can't go home!"
"Your right to assembly is not being denied," the police said later over a loudspeaker.

LOL
I tell you we’re friends and you step all over it.
I’d say that isn’t really very fair. Did you read what he blasted me with? It was mean-spirited, uncalled for, and ignorant.
I’m glad you guys are friends, but that has nothing to do with this as far as I’m concerned. And if this guy’s your friend, maybe as a friend you should not support him but rather talk to him about this kind of behavior.
>> and next month what happened in Murietta, CA will be declared a riot situation
There was no property destruction, theft, or mayhem in Murietta.
So what?
Is that an excuse to go to a media blackout?
Even war zones allow media as a matter of routine.
BTW, why are all the cops wearing camouflage, and appear to be an army?
Why are they not in uniform?
Pay attention Ray, none of that was going on last night. I didn’t see any rioters...Did you?
Guess I missed it and this thread has gotten rather long.
A veritable hay stack now.
Scroll down. Look closely and see if you can spot the differences.
There is no equivalence.
>> The flip side is theyve had 2-3 days of protestors turning into rioting looters.
An important point.
The definition of "Mayhem" will be relative to whatever the Ruling Class decrees.
You applaud combat troops using military force against civilians today.
Tomorrow that same force is going to be used against you.
Mark my words. And you and those like you will have applauded it's precedent.
After days of protests turning into riots the police were able to prevent yet another protest from becoming a riot. Pull your head out of the sand.
Congratulations! Clair McCaskill agrees with you.
You answer a question with a comment?
Very odd.
Not comparing, not equivocating, I'm WARNING where this militarized civilian security force warrior cop institution will eventually go and be used against.
If you think that fear is ridiculous - then the notion of liberty is lost on a person like you who is happy living in a Police State.
I swear, I feel like the editor of the Munich Post - and all the warning and screaming about the dangers we are witnessing is just going to end up being mass applause when the State eventually strings me up with piano wire.
Not according to some here. It’s a blatant disregard of reality to me.
The acceptance of combat troops on America's streets as regular law enforcement in Obama's America is as blatant a disregard of reality as anything I've ever seen.
As I said, it is becoming apparent that Americans are content to live in a Police State because like low information voters who have no idea they are ignorant, Americans have no idea they live in a Police State.
At least not until it will be used on them.
And then it will be too late for them.
Please don’t tell me about being patriotic and loving America.
But I’m telling the truth and the imperfections. You simply asked for examples of government suppression, you got it.
And you don’t seem to get the difference between “armed rebellion” and citizens of those regions excercising either daily lives or being involved in local government. None of these people were militia or any kind of armed rebels acting against their country in any actual act of war. No, the country ASSUMED they would act against them and so drew the guns on them and for those politicians who seemed “threatening”, they threw them in Ft. McHenry.
Lobsterbacks.
By New Englanders, of course.
You’re comparing apples and oranges. My premise that you astonishingly dispute is that America is NOT like what most have experienced over the sad history of man’s oppression of man.
You bring up some example that shows flaws in this country. That’s easy to do. But is doesn’t refute the premise that America is an exceptional country that has been a safe haven for its citizens and that others have literally died to be a part of.
That exceptionalism is past-tense now.
Obama himself decreed it so.
Our society has made it so.
Combat forces on America’s streets and accepted as a necessity is proof that we are no longer what we once were.
No, I don’t think it is yet past tense even though the current occupant of the WH, the Leftists, and seemingly a significant portion of the GOP would wish it so. That is the lament and challenge I expressed way back in post #144.
