I have two daughters.Both have the highest I.Q.’s possible.My first born graduated high school at fourteen,went on to cosmetology school,graduated at seventeen.At which time she enlisted in the Navy.She is Bi-Polar.She can be as sweet as can be and in an instant be so evil so as to be scary and does not care who or what she hurts.I have had to distance myself and my family for fear of harm coming to them.She is evil and very cunning,which combined is a recipe for disaster.
Thankfully my other daughter is a successful attorney with numerous degrees.I love them both the same,but on the same token I tread very softly.Yes it pains me.
I am not unfamiliar with those in such states. One of my friends sons had this issue from about ten yrs. of age. Violence could errupt in a heartbeat....In and out one clinic after another.....died at 21 yrs. old after killing a taxi driver, who also had this problem. Both mothers of these young men got together and were glad, in their sorrow ,that their children were finally at peace.
In both these cases the parents had known throughout these children’s lives that they should be institutionalized......but of course once they are 18 you cannot do a thing as they are now considered adults.
We can only pray God’s hand on them no matter the outcome....but my friends family were constantly fearful of what their son could do...because he was so violent. Their other two children spent their lives walking on tip toes so as not to upset him...it affects entire families.
Your daughter sounds like my 11year old. Very intelligent and it absolutely boggles our minds and those of her behavioral psychologist and her psychiatrist. Knows right from wrong but chooses the wrong path 99% of the time and seems to revel in her madness. At her age they won’t diagnose her with schizophrenia or bi polar disorder but exhibits symptoms of both. We tried every form/way of trying to correct her behavior but nothing works. She is only happy when she is doing whatever she pleases regardless of any of societies rules! This past 2 months she has decided to steal/shoplift every chance she gets to the point where she does not go shopping with us.
She is the most disruptive / destructive person one can imagine and now her shrink and counselors are spending most of her sessions just trying to help us cope and preparing us for the fact that she is unlikely to change and may get worse.
