Was it bad because it was poorly made? Or depressingly too similar to what we are living through now?

I thought the acting in the first one was horrible and the whole thing reminded me of some amateur video shooter... never bothered with the second one....

Well, it was low budget but one can make a good low budget movie. I would have to say it was the script. It was very plodding and boring. No drama or pacing at all. I could barely stay awake. The acting wasn't very good either.

Poor production. Story lines and cinematography not very good. It was like watching one of those movies where a guy is trapped in a box inside the trunk of a car and that’s the only scene you get until near the end of the movie. They need Spielberg vision. He could make a movie about a caterpillar and make it interesting.

I'd suggest it's the latter. You can turn on the TV and watch Atlas shrugging.
