Police in combat shootings (against armed opponents) can rarely hit any target more than 20% of the time. This has been well-known for decades by researchers in that field. When facing continued fire most people cannot even shoot that well for more than half a minute. In a sustained gun battle, there will always be a lot of bullet holes in places where they were not wanted.
"One or two errant shots" is an unrealistic expectation.
And about 30% of hostages are killed when criminals keep shooting from behind them.
Some problems do not have happy solutions.
Sounds like Chode & Usagi have the right of it, then.
De-escalation, rather than CONFRONTATION, and make it a privilege for a King's Man to be armed.
” Some problems do not have happy
solutions.”
Especially when cops don’t even try.
