He wasn’t really an actor. He was a mimic.

Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor three times, Williams went on to receive the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Good Will Hunting (1997). He also received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards.

Not bad for a mimic.

IMHO this was Williams’ best acting role. He didn’t play the usual dimwitted comedian. Before I watched this I didn’t think he could act a lick. I didn’t think he could talk to anyone without acting like an idiot, which he did off and on screen for some strange reason. Check out this movie. It’s great and hardly ever mentioned in Robin Williams’ films.
