Actor Robin Williams has died, the Marin County Sheriffs Office confirmed Monday.
He was 63.
The Sheriffs Office was called to a home in unincorporated Tiburon just after noon Monday, the office stated in a news release.
So will Good Morning Vietnam be one of my favorites.
I saw that movie and it seemed more anti-suicide than pro-suicide. And it was a beautiful if odd movie and mesmerizing throughout, so I don’t see why it would make someone want to go out and commit suicide, any more than any of the recent Transformer movies.
“Never did a drug in my life. Stopped drinking years before any depression showed up. If you havent been there, please dont make generalizations.”
I am not making generalizations. I am referring to RW’s discussions of his depression. Do your homework before posting.
IMHO this was Williams’ best acting role. He didn’t play the usual dimwitted comedian. Before I watched this I didn’t think he could act a lick. I didn’t think he could talk to anyone without acting like an idiot, which he did off and on screen for some strange reason. Check out this movie. It’s great and hardly ever mentioned in Robin Williams’ films.

I saw that. It was an acid trip with no acid needed. I left the theater with a headache.

Just—RIP.
Overpaid actors need raises too?
Thank you.
My kids used to watch Mork & Mindy. Never watched it myself. I never really thought he was very funny.
I never got into his “humor” but perhaps he was more genuine than most of that crowd out there in Howood...
RIP and condolences to his family.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I think he married his kid’s nanny and she joined him as his movie producer.
To me he was a TV icon of the 70’s. As a kid, I could not follow his routine as Mork, but he was light and funny. I know I did not like his dark forays into movies in the eighties, so I quit watching him. Then, I who do not watch comedy shows, tuned into his latest sitcom with Michelle Gellar. He was funny but the jokes seemed rather thin humor and his co-stars not engaging. I really wanted to like it because I wanted to watch a father daughter show and I was ( am) desparate for light entertainment.
Rest in Peace Robin. Shalom.
He was awesome in the role of Mrs. Doubtfire.
He “shazzz-ZOTTED” himself!
Yes, he did a marvelous job in Awakinings....
Using freeper lingo!
Williams wasn’t Jewish btw
I still remember a scene from that show, you could tell he was just making it up as he went along.
The set up was something about Mindy needing to get dolled up for a date, or something like that.
Suddenly Mork becomes a Puerto Rican hairdresser (a gay Puerto Rican hairdresser? Maybe.) and he is babbling away in Spanglish and touselling her hair and then, with a flourish, he declares: HOKAY HONEY- BACK ON THE STREETS!
My brother could get like that sometimes, just snap into a fully formed, entirely fictitious character.
And my brother was a very good mimic also, did a great George H.W.Bush and a great Reagan, he had that on his answering machine for a while.
I miss the 80s!
