So of course you agree that all they taxes they have paid into the system should be refunded, plus interest. Right?

No why should I agree on that? It certainly is NOT a logical extension of not paying for self destructive behaviors from a shared risk pool. BTW I don't think AIDS treatment should be paid for by my tax dollars either.

If I were President, I'd offer to buy back every Medicare card, and all its "benefits", for what the individual had had deducted from his lifetime paychecks, plus 5% compound interest. For most people, this would be about $75,000 to $150,000.

It would be a total financial win toward reducing our deficit projections .....

until a couple of years later, when the millions who had taken those buybacks, and then pi$$ed away the money, started showing up in emergency rooms pleading for "help".
