No one is forcing them to live in those self imposed prisons, nor to accept food stamps. They could actually build their own strong communities, schools and even rocket ships but hey that takes personal commitment. It is so much easier to whine and blame others while screaming for social justice and recognition without actually having to earn it.
Plus they'd have to lose their deep-seated mistrust of "the system". Events like this only serve as a catalyst and reinforce their beliefs.
It's no excuse, just an observation.
