AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- A Texas agency wants to allow alcohol sales at gun shows that meet certain requirements, including not allowing live ammunition.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission announced the proposal Friday. It will hold a 30-day public comment period before any rules would be enacted.

They allowed beer sales in the food area at the Pomona (LA) Gun Show, no problems I’m aware of.
Proposed by the same democrats that are talking impeachment.
I wish them good luck - I hope this gets approved.
Has this been successfully done before? With the right group of responsible adults it could work, but not just with anybody. Some people change demeanor completely after a little alcohol (or mary jane), long before they become officially drunk.
Ever hear of a fist-fight at a gun-show? A murder?
Probably not impossible, but I’ve never heard of it and I’d bet they are rare in the extreme.
Who thinks even if there’s a little drinking that there will be shootings ?
There have been accidental shootings at gun shows
If this gets approved, it’s gonna be the WILD WEST! ... or not.
all they need is a cigarette stand and you got yourself a federal department..
Question.
What is the racial mix typically like at these shows in Texas?
Just wondering.
why is it so critical to have alcohol at a gun show? how is liability handled if god forbid an accident occurs.
OK!
How ‘bout some dynamite, too? Got plenty of ‘gators int the lake in back. (-:
So what? As long as you aren’t shooting, who cares?
ATF should be the name of a nationwide chain of convenience stores, not an oppressive federal bureau.
Since gun shows have been held for years without alcohol, it may not be critical.
This is stupid. Alcohol makes guns go crazy.
The same reason they have gun shows in the first place...$$$
BAD IDEA. Probably proposed by Democrats so something bad WILL happen.
Yes there has been quite a few.
And in nearly every case it has a dealer putting firearms up for sale without properly checking the chamber or using a personal carry weapon to demostrate a holster or something similar.
I don't have a problem with a customer having a beer or two while walking the floor. I am a bit more concerned about the dealers drinking on the job.
