If they really wanted to do that, then they would not call themselves “Hamas” and the Arabs in the area who elected them in the first place wouldn’t have done so, much less referred to themselves as “Palestinians”.

For the record, liberalism is a second-world subculture and also endeavors to tear down cultures worth living in.

The UN has been aiding these terrorists virtually since Day One of Israel’s existence. Who in that organization would care to perform any act in Israel’s favor?

They were so angry about “their god” (i.e. the Jews’ God) sending their missiles off-course too.

Open the port or Hamas will contact their Ally Obama to send in the cruise missiles onto Israel.

Is there some other organization that could supervise a port for them? I know everyone here is pro-Israel, without any reservation. It just seems that any solution has to account for people there having the possibility of leading stable lives.

You are characterizing the situation in liberal terms.

The UN supports Hamas. There are too many UNRWA “schools” already discovered to be weapons caches, with or without tunnels.

The only solution that would result in people leading stable lives is Israeli victory.

The same UN that allowed rockets and ammunition to be stored in schools?

Or do you mean the same UN that allows Hamas to operate openly from the basement of a hospital?

Or perhaps you meant the UN that called on Israel to unilaterally cease defensive operations?

Israel and Egypt (yes Egypt) share responsibility for a standing blockade on the port. Shipments are not all turned away. Approved agricultural exports are allowed and humanitarian and general trade come in from non-terror affiliates. Hamas wants an open port so they can wage more war. An open unsuspected port means more and more sophisticated weapons Wil be imported.

The UN, Hamas and Hezbollah sympathizers to their core, cannot be trusted with running an elementary school... how can they be entrusted with port security?

A perfect solution to the Hamas ultimatum: mine all the ports Hamas can bring in a cargo ship. Then, announce the mining and let the friends of Hamas or Hamas decide whether to risk getting blown up by mines while coming in or going out. Mine warfare is a simple and elegant way of keeping Hamas from resupply.

“There exists a law, not written down anywhere, but inborn in our hearts, a law which comes to us not by training or custom or reading, a law which has come to us not from theory but from practice, not by instruction but by natural intuition. I refer to the law which lays down that, if our lives are endangered by plots or violence or armed robbers or enemies, any and every method of protecting ourselves is morally right.”
