Contractors have taken on the huge task of sheltering thousands of unaccompanied child migrants
In the late afternoon of July 9, Air Force One touched down at Love Field in Dallas. President Barack Obama ducked into a private room at the airport for a discussion about the crisis of undocumented children crossing the southwest border. Assembled around a wooden table were top Texas officials, including Governor Rick Perry and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, as well as the leaders of several faith-based charities. One of them was a man so anonymous, the White House pool report misspelled his name.
Kevin Dinnin is the CEO of a faith-based, nonprofit organization called BCFS, formerly known as Baptist Child and Family Services. This obscure charity has emerged as one of the biggest players in the federal governments response to the influx of more than 57,000 unaccompanied children who have trudged across the southern border so far this year. It runs two of the largest facilities for temporarily housing immigrant children, as well as six permanent shelters in California and Texas. Since December, BCFS has received more than $280 million in federal grants to operate these shelters, according to government records. On July 7, two days before Dinnin met Obama in Dallas, the Department of Health and Human Services awarded BCFS $190,707,505 in a single grant.

“This is ACORN!”
Exactly. So, who’s running a continuing map of ex-ACORN operatives and Obama’s shenbanigans?
And wait til Obama orders the Catholics to start teaching gay and abortion. Will they be able to resist after becoming dependent on the Kings Cash?
I am a Baptist and I blame them. This is precisely the kind of thing that is driving people to stop giving to churches and give to individual entities (just like candidates versus R party). I want to know where my money goes and this is not where I want it spent.
Before I read the story let me posit this:
“Faith based and they’re getting Halliburton money? That’s $280 million dinero since December”.
Let’s be clear, Non-Profit doesn’t mean a certain avarice isn’t the real motivator. In fact, you can discern quite a bit from a 501c annual filing, which they must, by law, provide upon request.
In there you you will find direct compensation, bonuses, private jet use, parties and “un-reimbursed” expenses.
Un-reimbursed expenses are expenses that are a regular part of business but, not necessarily paid for by an employee or officer of an organization.
This can include wine, liquor, limos, stays at the Four Seasons, gifts, etc.
For instance, The Red Cross has annual revenues of $6 billion. The CEO is paid $2 million per year and a dump truck full of bene’s.
Now, there is nothing to say you can’t form your 501c pay yourself boxcars full of money, employ family and them similarly but, less than what you make.
That is what is going on here, under the rubrick “We are fishermen”.
That may be but, I don’t think salvation is their primary motivation.
Camoflage.
...theres a problem, none of them are religion based organizations. None of them have churches. None of them have congregations or parishioners.
They are the heads of government funded non-profits. Remember ACORN? Same/Same.
They are taxpayer funded corporations who exist almost exclusively on government grants. Despite the words Baptist and Catholic, these are NOT religious faith based groups.
The name Baptist and Catholic is only to give the appearance of religion and add a dose of charity to the appearance.
Fine, it’s still a government issue. It doesn’t matter who government pays to take care of them.
Get government to stop them from coming in and it ceases to be a problem.
Attacking the non-profit is like attacking a construction worker rebuilding an overseas mosque with U.S. government tax dollars.
You’re real beef is with government and government policy not the construction worker or the non-profit.

It seems you are making the point/argument that government actually does/is the controlling factor in our lives. I cannot reconcile this in light of the words in the USA’s Declaration of Independence and the follow up USA Constitution.
Faith based?

“unaccompanied child migrants”= illegal alien minors.
And under DACA a “minor” is someone “under 31 years of age”.
You can be sure there are `children’ in their forties and even fifties claiming to be 31.
It’s for the children, don’chaknow?
And the only ones being `deported’ are the few that want to go home; the rest are claiming asylum, and that’s complete boolchit: It’s all amnesty.
However, we do know that BCFS has been registered as a non-profit with the IRS since 1944 and we do know they published press releases under the now-defunct domain name texasbaptist.org.
But there's certainly enough grey here to warrant a concerted FR investigation.
I make no such point. My point is that if you don't like what government is doing throw the jerks out through the electoral process.
My second point is that you're wasting your breath complaining about government paying someone for this work, when you should remain focused on getting government to stop the illegal immigration itself.

HAVE WE FORGOTTEN WHO DESTABILZED HONDURAS??????
Remember that in his first months in office, Obama (and Hillary) mocked the rule of law in Honduras, gutting the constitutional system and creating chaos:
http://stumpedagain.wordpress.com/obamas-honduras/
and Read the links there, especially the one by Honduran-born Miguel Estrada (the Latino Democrats love to hate).
Also, I certainly like to see some fact-checking about crime statistics in Guatamala and El Salvador and the supposed big spike that occured there. I don’t expect CNN or the NYT will check this out.
You go to the BCFS website and do a search for the name of “Jesus”.
Your search will come up empty.
They do not share the Gospel.
